Wigwe pushes SME growth with five-year TW Entrepreneurship 2030 Agenda

Entrepreneur and Director of The HOW Foundation, Tochi Wigwe, has reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening small businesses in Lagos through the TW Entrepreneurship 2030 Agenda. The five-year initiative targets more than 5,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with emphasis on providing structure and strategy for sustainable growth.

Speaking at the finale of the Town Hall Series on August 2, Wigwe explained that the first year of the #TWEAGENDA focused on collecting data on challenges facing SMEs. She said the project had engaged over 250 entrepreneurs within six months, across the beauty, creative, agriculture, fashion, and hospitality sectors.

“This is not just about funding,” Wigwe said. “Entrepreneurs are craving growth in structure, strategy, and support. The #TWEAGENDA is about creating the conditions they need to thrive.”

Town halls and shared experiences

The town hall sessions created a platform for business founders to exchange experiences, discuss obstacles, and connect with industry experts. The gatherings also featured contributions from notable entrepreneurs and creatives, including Beatrice Eneh, Sandrah Tubobereni, Seyi Awolowo, Hilda Bassey, Dare Aliu, Anahid Inegbese, Tania Omotayo, Taymesan, and Bankole Williams.

Launch of Think Tank

Wigwe also announced the activation of the #TWEAGENDA Think Tank, made up of professionals nominated by the public. Members include Dare Adebayo, Gbesan Olatunji, Abiola Adewole, Orlando Odejide, Amarachukwu Nwokokoro, and Yetunde Ajibade.

She noted that the team is already using data gathered from the town halls to design strategic recommendations. Wigwe assured participants that updates on the proposed solutions will be shared later this year as the initiative enters its next phase.
