The National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS) in the Akordet sub-zone is implementing vocational training programmes aimed at equipping young people with essential skills. The initiative focuses on enabling participants to improve their livelihoods and contribute to community development.
According to Mr. Yasin Mohammednur, head of the NUEYS office in the sub-zone, the training covers various fields, including computer technology, electrical and electronic systems, solar system installation, beauty salon services, and first aid. These programmes are designed to provide practical knowledge that can be applied in different sectors.

Youth participation and commitment
A total of 227 young people, including 112 females, are currently enrolled in the training. Participants have expressed appreciation for the opportunity, stating that the skills acquired will help them build sustainable careers and support their communities.
The vocational training initiative aligns with broader efforts to empower Eritrean youth through education and skill development. Similar programmes are expected to continue, focusing on enhancing the overall capacity of young people in different regions of the country.
