Network International partners with MTN Group Fintech for payment processing

Network International has been appointed as the payment processing partner for MTN Group Fintech, expanding its issuer processing collaborations across Africa. The partnership aims to enhance mobile financial services and provide improved digital payment solutions.

Expansion of issuer processing services

Network International operates in over 50 countries and serves more than 250 financial institutions. Through this collaboration, the company will roll out card issuance products across MTN Fintech markets. Rwanda is already operational, and Uganda, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria are set to follow.

The partnership will provide transaction processing, card management, and online fraud prevention services. MTN Fintech users will be able to access mobile financial services alongside digital payment solutions.

Enhancing financial inclusion

Dr. Reda Helal, Group Managing Director – Processing, Africa and Co-Head Group Processing at Network International, stated that the partnership demonstrates the company’s ability to serve Mobile Network Operators through its processing solutions. Cedric N’guessan, Executive for Payment and E-commerce at MTN Group Fintech, highlighted the importance of the collaboration in expanding access to digital financial services. He said, “This collaboration with Network International is pivotal in enhancing financial inclusion across Africa and beyond. It enables our customers to actively engage in the global economy, aligning perfectly with our strategic goals alongside Mastercard to broaden access to digital financial services across the continent.”

Growth strategy and market expansion

The partnership supports MTN Fintech’s plans to increase its presence across Africa by integrating financial services with digital solutions. The rollout of card issuance products in multiple countries aligns with the company’s objective of providing seamless and secure payment experiences.

MTN Group operates in 14 African markets, offering voice, data, fintech, enterprise wholesale, and API services to over 288 million customers. The collaboration with Network International will support its strategy of expanding digital financial inclusion.
