…Government–citizens session highlights digital goals
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has restated its commitment to digital transformation as a tool for economic growth, small business development, and improved trust between citizens and government.
Speaking in Kaduna at the two-day Government–Citizens Engagement Session, NITDA Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, said the agency is aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda through initiatives such as the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme and the Digital Literacy for All project.

Training and infrastructure expansion
Inuwa stated that over 350,000 Nigerians from the northern region have received digital training. “From students to market women, no one is left behind,” he said, adding that the agency aims to reach 70% digital literacy across the country by 2027.
He also announced the deployment of 90,000 kilometres of fibre optic cable, three digital centres in each state, and over 100 new e-learning and IT hubs across Nigeria.

Partnerships for broader access
According to Inuwa, NITDA is working with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Ministry of Education to embed digital skills in both formal and informal education.
