The Federal Government has launched a national skills programme designed to connect 20 million young Nigerians to jobs and business opportunities by 2030.

Targeting youth potential
Vice-President Kashim Shettima, at the inaugural meeting of Generation Unlimited Nigeria (GenU 9JA) in Abuja, said 60 per cent of beneficiaries will be women. Describing Nigeria’s youth as the nation’s “superpower,” he said the focus must be on turning potential into productivity.

Structured for impact
The initiative, anchored on the Digital Access and Livelihoods Initiative (DALI), will link training directly to jobs or enterprise pathways. Programmes will align with the National Skills Qualification Framework to ensure global competitiveness.

Unified approach
Shettima called for a single platform for government, private sector, and partners to replace fragmented efforts. Youth Minister Ayodele Olawande restated the aim of bridging skills gaps and empowering young Nigerians.
