Tanzania to open direct flight route to Nigeria to enhance trade

The High Commissioner of Tanzania to Nigeria, H.E. Selestine Gervas Kakele, has announced that plans are underway to establish a direct flight route between the two countries. The move aims to improve trade and business relations.

Speaking at the Food and Beverage West Africa Exhibition in Lagos, Kakele said, “Discussions are in their final stages,” and the direct flight service is expected to begin within the year.

Trade promotion at Lagos event

Tanzania’s High Commission participated in the exhibition, which hosted over 6,000 visitors and 300 businesses. The delegation showcased various Tanzanian-made products to Nigerian consumers and traders.

Stronger business ties encouraged

Kakele urged Tanzanian companies to take part in more exhibitions across Nigeria. “We must tap into Nigeria’s large population and economic potential,” he said.

He added that increased presence in West Africa would help boost exports and expand market visibility.
